FAQ

How can I pay for my excursion?
I take all major credit cards, PayPal, and check. Payment in full is required to secure a date. If you have corporate invoicing requirements, I'm happy to adapt my policy to work within your framework.

How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking as far in advance as possible, with a month being ideal. I'm generally not able to accommodate last-minute bookings. This is a frequently asked question.

What is the refund policy?
You can cancel anytime up to 7 days before the hike with a full refund. Between 7 days and 72 hours before the tour you'll be refunded 50%. For 72 hours and less there is no refund. Also note that any permit fees usually can't be refunded by the issuer, but if we can, we'll try. If for some reason I cancel the tour, you will be refunded in full. This is a frequently asked question?

What if the weather is bad?
The tours are rain or shine unless I determine that conditions become too dangerous. If so,  you will get a full refund.

How much experience do I need for a guided tour?

The skill level of our tours ranges from novice to advanced. Let us know how you rate your skill/fitness level and make sure that we are not choosing a tour that is too difficult for you. You’re on vacation, not in boot camp!

What is the best time yeat to explore the TNF?  We have different recommendations based on when youre visiting. Our peak season for most activites will be October to May. Fishing is the opposite--from May to October. June, July and August are not recommended for guided hiking.
